Thika United FC came back from a goal down for the second time this season beating former champions Tusker FC 2-1 at the Moi International Stadium (Kasarani) in a tough premier league fixture.
United were the first to threaten three minutes into the match with Fredrick Kuria heading wide twice with only the keeper to beat. However it was Tusker who got the opener first when center referee Carlin Alusa from Nairobi controversially awarded an indirect free kick inside the box. Tusker’s leading scorer Boniface Ambani slotted home the resultant free kick five minutes into the match.
The match was however stopped for close to ten minutes when once again the center referee controversially sent off United’s national U-20 midfielder Chrispine Olando for a 50-50 high ball collision with a Tusker player for a second bookable offense 5 minutes after the goal. United officials and technical bench who on realization that Carlin Alusa was to be the referee for the match had officially appealed for the same to be changed four days ago”
