Owiny makes debut with clean sheet in Nzoia draw.

Thika UTD Keeper Allan Owiny

Thika United FCs’ new acquisition Allan Owiny made his debut this afternoon by keeping a clean sheet in helping his new side grab a point away in Sudi against Nzoia FC.

The shot stopper was instrumental in keeping the visitors backline in shape and focused, hence thwarting the few raids the home side posed as they capitalized on counter attacks as Thika United dominated most of the match.

Shami Mwinyi going close on two occasions early in the match, after beating his marker only to be denied by the keeper.

Eric Adem also lost his chance to grab three points for Thika United when his effort whizzed inches off the mark and proved to be a menace in the Nzoia defence.

Owiny made a finger tip reflex save late in the match to deny the hosts a late winner-as the home crowd left the grounds a disappointed lot despite the point earned in the 0-0 draw.

Thika United will take on Sofapaka in their next fixture in July 17 at Thika Sub-County Stadium.
