Eugene Mukangula’s goal after 38 minutes of play secured Thika United’s crucial victory over Tusker FC at Ruaraka Grounds this afternoon,5th November 2017.
The on form offensive converted ShamiKibwana’s assist from inside the area to move the visitors a favourable position in the log.
Brain Osumba was unable to place the ball into an open goal after good work from Dan Kago had stretched Thika United’s defence, but for all their swagger and pressure in the early stages, the home side could not find a telling response after Mukangula’s opener.
Peter Okoth was unfortunate not to double his team’s tally on the stroke of halftime when, after Mukangula had skipped past Eugene Asike and squared for him, his side-footed effort came back off a post and ran agonisingly for a goal kick.
The visitors could hardly have made a better fist of it before the break as they took advantage of a monumentally inept display by the host’s to give themselves every hope of addressing their chronic bout of winless away games.
The second half both teams puffed and huffed but only Thika United could manage a smile as they bagged priceless 3 points and a double over the former champions.FT:0-1
