Thika beats Sony
Thika united scooped their first win when they beat Sony Sugar by a solitary goal at the Thika municipal stadium that was played on 18/03/2013.
Thika started with a high parse with the eager to win with Moses Arita and Kepha Aswani making a lot of shots in the Sony’s goal mouth but Sony’s keeper very focused and making the vital saves.
As the game progresses, it was evident the visitors would have been content with a point in the way they were playing they but The home team had other ideals. This was clearly indicated by the formation as head coach John Kamau opted to deploy his team in a more attacking 4:3:3 system which almost bore fruits in the first 20 min.
By the first half both teams had not seen the goal but wasted several clear scoring chances at some point having a one on one situations only to go to waste.
At the start of second half thika come with a new strategy that sow them going to Sony’s goal mouth more times that the first half, at a point Sony’s player fouling near many place because of the type of football Thika was playing.
The only goal of the day was scored by Dennis Omino after Kahata was fouled and Kuria took the free kick and that landed into Ominos head and netting it making the home side ahead.
Thika made changes by removing Kuria and bringing on Michael Omondi in the midfield,Miheso for Nairuka,Kennedy for Aswani,while Sony brought Agwanda to equalize but with no Vail.
At the end of the 90 min Thika took the day and signed their fist victiry in this session and will meet Rangers which will be a milk dearby after Rangers got Daima sponsorship.
