Thika grabs 3 points from Muhoroni
After drawing with Oserian at home on Sunday the 15th July at thika stadium, thika united came back to a winning trend as they beat Muhoroni 1-0 at the Muhoroni stadium on Saturday 21st July 2012.
The match started with a lot of vigor from both teams but thika overcome their host as they settled quickly and with good combination from Kahata and new signed Hadji, thika tried their host custodian from the 6th minute
On the 21st minute Muhoroni got a penalty after thika Morris dukuly handled the ball in the box, Muhoroni Nigerian import took the penalty but lost the opportunity to convert.
Thika continued with their superb football with Hadji being denied the opportunity to score by the outstanding Muhoroni custodian.
In the 30th minute thika Francis Kahata got a superb pass from Kenyan international Clifton Miheso to kick the ball in the far post but stretching Muhoroni custodian made a great save.
In the 39th minute thika got a corner kick, Opondo took the corner,Dirkir Glay got a header but the centre referee penalised him as he got contact with Muhoroni goalkeeper.
At half time 0-0.
After the half time break thika come back re-energized and ready to take back home 3 points and their efforts were rewarded on the 57th minute when Kahata was fouled outside the box,Clifton Miheso scored the only goal of the day through an award winning and well rehearsed set piece,between him and Kahata.
In the 60th minute Thika tactician John kamau made his first substitution bringing in Kepha Aswani and Moses Arita for Hadji Mwachoki and Freeman Mulbah.
Muhoroni kept up the pressure on thika united and on the 80th minute they were denied an opportunity to equalize by thika custodian Lucas Indeche.
Thika dominated and defended,until the final whistle making the milk boys leap up to position 3 in the table.
Thika next game will be against sofapaka on Saturday 28th July at the Thika municipal stadium from 1500hrs,the match will be aired live by super sport.[more pics in the gallery]
