Thika share points with Oserian
After winning the match against mathare last weekend thika united was forced to a one all draw by 15th placed Oserian fc at the thika municipal stadium on Sunday the 15th July 2012.
The match started with a high tempo,in the 2nd minute thika Francis Kahata tried a long range shot but it was deflected for a corner by Oserian defender.
A good combination from Kahata, Arita and Miheso but Oserian keeper was very alert.
Oserian made an attack in the 27th minute but thika defender mugaka cleared the ball, for the better part of the first 45 minutes thika played a ‘tic tac’ kind of football from the defense line,to the attack but Oserian defense kept them at bay.
Centre referee David Gikonyo ended the first half in the 47th minute. Oserian made double substitutions bringing a defender and an attacker.
In the 56th minute thika head coach brought in new signing Wycliffe Opondo and freeman Mulbah for Anthony Kizito and Kepha Aswani.
Opondo second touch ended with a goal and surely he made his presence felt,what a way to start for John Kamaus’ new kid on the block.
5 minutes later thika would have made it 2-0 through Miheso but Osama saved his team clearing the ball away.
In the 78minute,thika defender Dirkir Glay was substituted after a muscle pull,the team physician had to request his technical bench to do the substitution and Simon Mbugua replaced him.
85th minute thika got a free kick at the edge of the box after Miheso was fouled, thika united midfielder Michael Luvutsi took the kick only to land in the hands of Oserian custodian and he kicked the ball in 1-9 situation and it bounced past the Thika defense comprising of Mogaka, Chitai and Mbugua and Oserian striker went past them to beat an advancing united custodian Lucas Indeche leveling the game to a one all.
Referee David added 3 minutes of the game and both teams made attacks and also defended the goals that they had,1-1 at fulltime.
Kahata was named the Man of the match and was rewarded by the team management. Thika united will play its next match on Saturday the 21st June 2012 against Muhoroni youth in Muhoroni.
